0% Financing on VW GTI and R32

Word from a dealer I’ve worked with in a past is that VW is offering 0% financing on all GTI and R32. The deal for the GTI right now is 0% for up to 60 months and 0% for up to 36 months on the R32. You can read more about my opinion on the R32 here. I normally pitch leases, after all, that is the focus of this web site. However, nothing beats leasing like 0% financing. It’s a no brainer. It’s a free loan, so why not.

  1. G,
First off, let me just say that Im really enjoying your blog. I have been looking at car leases for a while but have yet to make a decision. Still a little upset that I balked at the 08 TSX in April…

Anyway, what’s your take on the following: 36/15k on a Cooper or C30 lease…VS buying the GTI at 0% APR or leasing the GTI. I cant seem to find anything on the Volvo anywhere…CARSPACE forums are dead on the car (which I really freaking like).

    Thanks!!

  2. Hi L, thanks for dropping in. Glad you are enjoying the blog. I am normally a leasing kind of guy, have been doing it for the past 7 years. With that said, I think 0% is hard to pass up. I don’t think any lease can beat that, unless they are leasing for no interest.
I’m not a very big Volvo guy. They don’t make them like they used to. They are more Ford than Volvo in my opinion. Leasing a Cooper S isn’t a bad idea either since they have strong residual values. But you won’t get any support on the MF. I think July’s rate is .00216, not exactly 0%. The CooperS would probably be a bit more fun to drive than the GTI, though, so I think it comes down to the finances. I would probably opt to own a GTI in this scenerio.
