2010 Mercedes Benz C-Class Lease Rates – August 2009

logo_benzMy Take: Looks like the 2010 C-Class has arrived for those who have been eagerly awaiting it’s arrival. Numbers look okay I guess. Nothing to sing about in all honesty. You can probably expect some discounting, but nothing like that past few months. In all honesty, I was expect much worse since they just arrived. I would probably wait a little bit to see if the MF drops a bit more. I personally like them in the lower .00100s instead of the high .00100s. However, if you REALLY must have a C-Class, it probably won’t kill you to get it this month, you will probably have to negotiate a bit harder, that’s all.

Check out the new LIST for the recommended leases of the month.

    • @GM. The sale price seems pretty good (about 1500 below invoice), but without the money factor, residual value, tax rate and description of fees, it is very difficult to know for sure, what you should be paying for your car. The payments are a bit higher than June, where the C350 lease was at it’s best. Just by looking at the driveoff, I think you’re probably putting down some cap reduction. see if you can provide me with at least the lease rates being used to calculate the deal, so I can see if their calculations can be duplicated.

Took the dealer a moment to get back to me with some details hope this helps. Please let me know how I can improve this deal.

    • @GM. You either have a sneaky dealer or you didn’t ask him for the right info. I’m inclined to say that your dealer is a bit sneaky. The only thing he actually told you after all that info was that your residual value is 50%. That’s pretty much it. It tells you what your total fees, taxes are, but it doesn’t tell you what those fees are. For all I know, he could be charging you for a $500 car wash and you wouldn’t know about it. Anyway, it has no info on the money factor used to calculate your lease either. So you cannot duplicate the numbers effectively. Luckily, with a little bit of reserve math, this is what I came up. Your residual is 50% and your money factor is 0.00084. These rates are identical to last months numbers, so that’s pretty good. Overall, it doesn’t seem like the dealer is fleecing you, but I cannot be 100% certain due to the lack of details on your inception fees. Typical inception fees for the C350s have been $2000 due at signing and your monthly + tax. You are paying about $500ish more than most people which I cannot identify (hence my comment about the $500 car wash). The sale price is still pretty good considering the fact that you missed out on the June deal. See if you can have your dealer break down/itemize the inception fees that are due at signing so you can identify what you are actually paying for. Once that’s clarified, I think you should feel better about pulling the trigger on the deal.

The dealer wouldn’t give me the additional numbers seemed to be offended that I would ask for the details. So I walked away from the deal. Will keep you posted on my next C adventure.
    Thanks
