2010 BMW 5-Series Lease Rates – October 2009

logo_bmwMy Take: 5-series numbers unchanged since August. Pretty lease rates if you ask me. If these MFs would show up on the 1-series, I think you’d have a really awesome lease on those right now. In any case, not a horrible time to get into a 5 right now. Couple things I’d like to point out again in case you missed it last time I mentioned it. First off, BMWFS seems to have adjust their residual values since the 2009 models. Take the 2009 528i for example:

2009 BMW 528i Sedan
24 Month – Residual 65% of MSRP – .00200 Base Rate
36 Month – Residual 59% of MSRP – .00200 Base Rate
48 Month – Residual 39% of MSRP – .00285 Base Rate
60 Month – Residual 32% of MSRP – .00285 Base Rate

The 24-month terms took a 3% hit while the 36-month term took a 1% hit. The good thing is that BMWFS adjusted their MF to compensate for some of that loss in residual. The jump in price tag between 2009 and 2010 was only about $300, so payments should be around the same as last October on the 36-month terms.

i picked up my 528xi last week, sep. #s 000155 mf droped to around 000106 with max msd’s 60% res. 36/12k lease around $6.790 at drive off $4.800 in ( msd) not bad but not great the cars msrp was $59.4 with a sale of $900 above invoice and some other crazy dealer fees that most dealers add on around my market

payment $590 with mass sales tax 6.25 %

FYI BMW now has a vp pack at no charge leather, heated seats &wheel and iPod not bad so getting the prem pack is kinda dumb

    I’ll have picks soon

    • @jake. thanks for you email about the chicken soup! 🙂 It’s a bit too far from home, but I appreciate the gesture! 🙂 Oh yeah, I’d love to see pics of the 5 you picked up last week. Snap up some pics and email them to me will ya? 🙂 Thanks!

1 more thing the 3 dealers I shoped @ tried to pad the mf rate only 1 did not (more up front) KEEP an EYE out

if they say that’s the rate that our store will use (padded rate) have them cut the sale price more

I hope this helps other guys out compare dealers around them

I got it the end of September but only drove it twice, I still have a week with my old truck lease 500 miles under I wanna give it back with 3 miles under lol

I’m going to the game I’ll take a few pics with fenway in the backdrop (sox over halos) 4 games LOCK

    • @jake. Haahaa nice! you’re lucky I’m not a halos fan. haahaa. Looking forward to the pics! so when’s the Q5 arriving? My folks recently picked up a silver/black VW Tiguan so I’m pretty excited to see a pic of their new ride.

  4. Hi G,
Great site (from another east-coster) – just discovered it a few weeks ago. I’m about to pull the trigger on a 535i xDrive and was looking for the november #’s. My dealer said he heard there was a big jump from Oct but his finance guy was out today. We started talking in Oct and the deal is good – plus it just got better with the 2500 cash incentive from BMW so I hope the new MF won’t wipe out the gains… Anyway, thanks and keep up the great work.

p.s. as someone else mentioned before, get that “donate” page set up!!
    Ed

    • @ed. welcome!!! thanks for checking in. I haven’t found the 5-series numbers this month, which is odd. they usually appear along with the rest of the lineup. maybe something big is happening. Either way, seems like BMWFS is throwing some cash at their cars for leasing, so keep your eyes peeled. Thanks again for all the complements! I guess I’ll get that donation thing going then 🙂

  5. Hi G,
I guess my dealer wasn’t kidding about a big jump in MF from Oct to Nov. He told me MF for a 535xi went from 00165 to 00245. ouch. That explains why they threw in some cash, I guess their bank needs to start making some money again…

    • @ed. looks like that is the case. In cases like this, I would recommend putting money towards multiple security deposits to lower the MF a bit, then take advantage of the cash to lower the payments some more. This is only if you really itching to get the 5-series right now. Otherwise, I’d sit tight and wait how things pan out. The 5-series has had a nice MF since the 2010 came out, I can’t believe raising the MF makes any sense, specially around holiday season.
