2010 BMW 3-Series Lease Rates – December 2009

logo_bmwMy Take: December numbers are pretty much the same as November, so nothing too exciting to report. $1500 or $2500 are also still available (thru January 4th, 2010) depending which trim you select. During our recent test drive, the wife really enjoyed the performance and handling of the 328i. No doubt, BMW makes excellent driving machines.

A “little bird” told me that BMW sometimes will introduce last minute cash towards the latter part of this month. This is generally to spur some last minute sales during the Holiday Season. The key word here is SOMETIMES. Just an FYI in case you are shopping for a BMW this winter.

  1. are the money factors the same around the country or different for different parts of the country?

    • @dan. for BMWs, pretty much. The rebates however are sometimes regional, but i think for this holiday season, all the rebates are the same for the entire country.

  2. G,

I am going to a BMW dealership today to get some figures on a 3 series. Have you ever got them to waive the security deposit or acquisition fee?

  3. Security deposit – yes. Acquisition fee (also known as bank fee) – never. That comes from the manufacturer’s credit arm (BMW, MBZ, Honda, etc.), and it would be like getting them to waive the destination charge. Never gonna happen.

But that doesn’t mean you can’t ask them, coincidentally, to drop the price by, say, $795 😉

    • what Barry said. Heehee. BMWFS used to waive the security deposit for returning lessees back in the day, not sure if they still do that. But bank acquisition hasn’t ever happened, but thats nothing a sale price drop can’t fix. 😀

  4. For the 335d, I am being told the money factor is .00270 from the dealer. Is there something added to the base to get to this figure?

  5. Tom,

I just went through the process of leasing a BMW. I’d all but guarantee they are marking it up. Most of the dealers around me were trying to charge .00240 for a .00200 buy rate. I called around to other dealers in my state and found one who would charge the buy rate of .00200.

  6. @Leo

The dealer I worked with gave me the impression that BMWFS would charge .00010 higher on the money factor if there was no security deposit. This was for a 135i with a .00200 money factor. So, I would have paid .00210 mf if I hadn’t paid the security deposit.
