2012-13 Volkswagen Lease Rates – September 2012

I didn’t get the rest of the 2012s so the only comparison I have from August is the 2013 CC Sport Plus. The Residual dropped 1% and VWC raised the MF from 0.00001 to 0.00012. The upside is that the lease cash got bumped from $2500 to $3000. This practically keeps the lease rates the same as last month. Just in case you didn’t catch it, my estimate below is not a very aggressive deal. You can probably do better in most markets. One last thing I want to point out is the 0% financing that’s going around on select models. Most lease programs cannot beat 0% financing.  There are some that could (e.g. lease cash plus ultra low MF), but I haven’t seen one. If you think that there is a possibility you would want to keep a car past it’s lease maturity, I recommend going for 0% financing instead. Yes, I am recommending you to buy instead of leasing. Shocking, I know.

  1. I wouldn’t keep a VW one day past its warranty. I had a 2009 Passat Wagon, that I bought with 0%. It was a great car but at 36,100 miles died due to a faulty fuel injector. VW did goodwill the repair but knowing that there were 3 more injectors that could go bad (at a potential repair of $1300 each) I traded it in on an Infiniti, leased with the help of this great site.

    • Thanks for the feedback PT. I do have to agree that European cars in general are a bit hit-n-miss when it comes to long term quality. I’m really torn about whether I want to buyout my wife’s Jetta or not. No major problems right now, but like you, I worry about that warranty expiring. Good call on the Infiniti, glad the site helped you get a sweet deal on the ride!
