August 2008 Lease Rate for 08 Lexus IS250
My Take: Thus far, the leasing “crisis” this month hasn’t affected German and Japanese cars, which is great news for those looking to lease an import. The MF stays relatively low on the IS250, making it cheaper to lease. The thing about the IS250 I don’t like is that it is far too expensive and underpowered for the price tag. I am not saying this is bad car, on the contrary, this car is beautifully crafted and one of the smoothest rides on the road. As always, if you need more “personalized” help with your numbers, shoot me an email at: g@ridewithg.com.
- IS250 RWD Auto + Luxury Plus + X Package
- MSRP $38569
- Invoice $33581
- Standard inception fees + tax
- Lease rate in BOLD
36mo Payment: $373 at invoice, $515 at MSRP
Notice how huge the gap is between the MSRP and the Invoice? Talk about overpriced. The good news is that the IS250 can probably be leased close to invoice (maybe few hundred above invoice), keeping the payments in the high $300s. Keep in mind you need to pay taxes, so you either pay that up front or your payments will be more in the low-$400s. Not too bad considering Acura’s 2009 TSX leases for around the same amount. Compared to the 328i or the C300, you’d be paying hundreds less going with the TSX or the IS250 this month.
By the way, if you find my website helpful, please share it with your friends and family. I would greatly appreciate that. Thanks!

Hi. Just got a call from my dealership for a new 2008 IS250 AWD with Luxury Plus Package (wood trim, ventilated seats…)and spoiler.
With 2500.00 down, they’re quotimg me a lease price of 339.00 per month.
With zero down, the lease price goes up to 410.00.
Can you give me some insight into whether this is a good deal and how I might further negotiate. I have a feeling that this is really it for the 2008s and this pricing.
thanks, s

Sue: Without a MSRP and Sale price, it is difficult to tell how solid the deal is. If the rates are better than the ones posted and your sale price is below invoice, then you may have a great deal on your hands.

Hi KR, I might have some for the IS350. I’ll need some time to put together a post. Thanks for your patience.

I see the IS350 post, thanks for sharing. Do you happen to have the IS250 rates? Thanks!

KR: I’ve posted the IS250 AWD rates. Haven’t found the RWD model yet but will post them once I find them.

I signed for the deal Sue got. My MSRP of 34.3 and just a little above invoice, a couple hundred I believe. $2,600 down, so $100 more, $339, including first months payment. Seemed like a good deal so I took it. I think one can get it for $2,200 down or so, but it’s done.

Jammer: the deal you got is not terrible, it could have been a bit lower, but it isn’t terrible either. It’s a fine car so I think you will be able to sleep at night.

That’s the feeling I got after looking a little. I needed a car quickly and just acted. I feel with the same payment, I could have put down 2000 or 2200 instead of the 2,600, including the first months payment.
How much lower were you thinking?

I was thinking about $300-$400 at most. It isn’t unrealistic to get the IS250 for somewhere around invoice, specially as we get near the end of the month and year.
