My Take: The Murano looks like a potential lease this month since there’s some lease support available of it. The residual value looks somewhat inflated (a good thing) and the money factor, despite being reduced, is still hovering around the 3.7% APR range. Not bad, not great. The good news is that TMV suggest the Murano S AWD going for about $47 over invoice plus you get a nice $500 cash rebate to go with it. Personally, I think invoice plus the $500 cash rebate is VERY doable. The calculations below do not reflect the $500 rebate, so you can probably do better.

Just thought I would add that folks are buying muranos for up to $2500 under invoice. $5000 off msrp for a well equiped sl awd is common. Even more off an LE. Even the S can be bought way below invoice.
How do you get $2,500 UNDER invoice? I have a 2005 Murano now, SL AWD that I got as a year end special, great incentive, money factor, etc. – am interested in a new one… but, under invoice? I know there is dealer cash of $400, but… care to help me out on this one?
I cannot verify that DZ has said, but I think invoice + the dealer cash is certainly doable. For most cars that are not “all-new” or “newly redesigned” for the 09 model year, invoice + rebates/cash is pretty realistic. I do know that Nissan has been trying to move cars by discounting them, so you may have some luck in that dept.
It is true but after much effort. Thanks to knowing money factor and residuals, I was able to get $2,560 under invoice plus FREE warranty for the extra mileage on a 15K per year/39 month lease on an Murano LE. MSRP $39,455 with invoice of $36,302. My base cap cost was $33,742.
Did it help that it was last day of Feb program and I shopped on a Monday when 10 inches of snow had fallen? I don’t know. But I ended up with a $399 payment (with tax) with a total of $3,500 cash up front. That was established as the goal.
Two comments. Credit score is excellent and dealer understood that I would just as soon take the $399 deal that Lexus was offering on the 2009 RX special.
The big BUT is this. I jumped because as I looked around at Murano inventory, there’s not a lot going into March (Nissan’s year end). Since Lexus’ promo ends and a lot of the competition lacks incentives other than Honda’s Pilot, will they continue to be this aggressive. I feared not but who knows.
