2010 Mercedes Benz ML, R Lease Rates – October 2009

logo_benzMy Take: The R-Class is a very “market-specific” vehicle, so its not for everyone. As you can see, the lease rates prove that. Personally, I’d rather get into a ML350 than the R350 since it has a better residual and better money factor. Speaking of the ML, I’m digging the ML350 4matic this month. 50% residual, .00102 is a decent combination. Not great, but decent. This is MB we’re talking about, so don’t expect to see super high residuals.

  1. G, the #s I got via Car Man on edmunds is .00096 on a 2010 2WD ML350 (and 53% for 10k miles) for October…any idea why the difference?

    • I won’t say Car Man is wrong, since he’s been right most of the time. If that’s indeed the case, I would recommend calling the dealer and getting them to quote you based on the lower money factor (0.00096). In cases like this, I’d like to be wrong. HAHA.

  2. G-
What do you think the best “luxury” SUV is this month? I am looking at the MDX/Q5/Q7/ML350/X5, but could be convinced otherwise…Also, do you think it is worth waiting for more 2010s to flood the market?

    Thanks!

    • @brian. Q5 and the ML look pretty solid this month. I would definitely check those two out. I think with the ML the lease rates could get worse, but MBUSA may end up throwing some cash at it to offset the difference. Personally, I think its a good month for these two. I would wait on the MDX and X5.

  3. G,

I believe the MF on a 10ML 350 4-matic, if u do above 36 months(like 39etc.) is actually .00075. thats what my dealer told me, I just wish i hadn’t lost the paper he wrote down the numbers for me. I saw the sheet with my own eyes, him and I both discussed how taking a 39month lease had the best MF.

    • @vj. thanks for the feedback vj. i’ll keep my eyes peeled for any more changes. I definitely like your MF better than what I’ve posted. I will update my posts as soon as I get more info on all the changes on MB lease rates. Thanks again.

  4. Thanks, G. Do you have the October FX info? I am thinking that might be my best option right now.

  5. I am getting a MF of 0.00075 for a 36 month lease myself on a 2010 ML350. Also finding nearly a ton of cash available to negotiate. I have spoke to three dealers and have stripped $10,800 off MSRP.

    • @brian. WOW! on a 2010? Are you serious? I’m seen $2000 lease cash, but $10.8k off MSRP?? Wow. Here’s a quick calculation, see if you can ask your dealer about it.

2010 ML 4matic. Premium 1 Package in Black.
      MSRP $53,025
      Sale $42225 (MSRP – 10800)
      MF .00075
      Res 50%
      Term 36m/15k
      Monthly $488+tax
About $2000 due at signing to cover all inception fees? (roughly?).

Is that what you are saying your dealers can do? If so, I’m putting a HIGH recommendation on the ML this month. This would be fantastic!

  6. G–send me an email and I can send you my faxed offer, but I have two standing offers:

$639/mo including tax with $987 down for first month and MD MVA fees (MSRP$56,135) (36mos/12k miles).

$620/mo including tax with $987 down for first month and MD MVA fees (MSRP$54,645) (36mos/12k miles).

  7. G or BRIAN.

will you pleasee pleasee send me brians amazing offer. My dealer is hinting im a liar and fraud. he said if can provide any proof, he’ll match it. so i’m begging you guys, help!!! my email is vinodc(at)gmail.com

G, ive been reading ur blog for over a year…ur #3 on my list of favorites(my wife will tell u i’m nuts)…I also told u last summer about the great E-class deals. So help me out this time around!

    • @vj. Haha thanks VJ. yes, I do remember about the e-class info you provided. Many thanks! Here’s the deal with Brian’s offer. He didn’t actually get a MSRP/Sale price. But he did get the dealer to offer him exactly what you said:

$639/mo including tax with $987 down for first month and MD MVA fees (MSRP$56,135) (36mos/12k miles).
$620/mo including tax with $987 down for first month and MD MVA fees (MSRP$54,645) (36mos/12k miles).

He didn’t get $10800 off. More like $9700, but still REALLY good deal. Now keep in mind that your monthly payment will change since your tax rate is probably different. I don’t know for sure how much the use tax in MD is, but I believe is around 6% or so.
Try getting the dealer to go invoice + the discounts then see where that puts you. Also reconfirm the residual/mf and all fees that are due at inception. You should have an email from be soon.

  8. Brian. how are you getting $10,800 off?

I only know of 2000 lease cash, and 1500 fleet discount. plus discount from msrp…but 10,800-3500=7500 off msrp. Guys please help!

    • @brian. I’ll send vj and edited copy of your quote (if you don’t mind). I’ve blurred out the dealer info and your name. I don’t want this to affect your current deal since you haven’t closed it yet.

  9. I sent the deal to G. I am actually at 10,200 off MSRP using a fleet discount and lease cash. It is crazy, I can’t even get into a Highlander for this little. You should be able to get $3500 off INVOICE with these discounts…stop working off MSRP. That is your problem. Also, the MF is just 0.00075.

  10. Yeah with the lease cash its $2,000 off invoice. Add the fleet discount and its 3,500 off invoice. Invoice/msrp spread is about 3-3,500 so thatd be 6,500-7 off MSRP. Where’s the extra 3 grand coming from?

    • @MSF. Personally, I’d sit tight and wait for Brian to get numbers from his dealer. He got a general month/down payment quote right now, but his dealer hasn’t fully disclosed the finer details like the sale price and such. I came up with about $9700 off MSRP using his estimate and assuming a few things. I don’t think we are too far off on this one.

  11. hey G and Brian,

G thanks a bunch for sending that info. And brian, all personal stuff was blurred out, just so you know.

My only problem guys is, even getting my dealer at invoice minus 3500 is only in the 7500 range. I would need something to show he’s getting in the 10k range discount. My dealer is adamant its not possible. Thats why im stunned brian is getting that big discount, unless there is hidden money we dont know about. Or did his dealer get access to Employee purchase program(EPP) control #. Brian/G any way I can get some sorta proof on the discount, so I can make my dealer eat his words?

    • @vj. if the dealer can offer you the ML350 4matic for $629 a month with taxes with only about $1000 due at signing, then that’s at least $9000 he needs to knock off the car. That’s the closest thing to a proof Brian got. My point is that if your dealer can do it, he should. If he can’t, proving it still won’t get you what you want. This is a game he’s playing. I’m sure will find out from his dealer what the actual sale price is. But there really isn’t much room to fudge a $629 a month + $1k a signing type of deal. MB’s bank. I’ll check with Aaron to see what the going price for the ML350 4matic is here in So Cal and see what he says. Don’t get your hopes up though. If you aren’t in So Cal, you prices may vary. 😛

  12. @vj, @g:

I took delivery today after the dealer finished working the numbers. Don’t shoot me, but I got it for $576/mo with just first month and $300 DMV fees ($876 total). My only “special” discount was that I got $1500 off the bottom line price due to the MB Fleet Program. Figure that is worth roughly $45/mo extra on your price if you can’t get it (typically, $1000 off the price is worth $30 per month).

G, thank you for your advice. With your help/analysis of my offer I was able to get my dealer in the DC area to shed the final $50ish per month that was attributed to a slight bump in the MF.

The car included P1, Heated front seats and pre-wiring with a MSRP a hair under $54,000.

    Thanks,
    B

    • @brian WAY AWESOME WOW! I am curious as to what the final sale price of the vehicle was for you. There’s just so little info on your dealer except payments and inception that I do wonder how he’s calculating all the numbers. It’s looking like a $10,000 discount at this point. Brian, you might check your contract to see what the gross cap cost is on this?

  13. Brian,

Spectacular deal. I’m having troubles with my dealer, i want to wrap this up by saturday. I NEED YOUR HELP BRIAN/G. Brian, can you tell me your GROSS CAP COST. (i know not to work from msrp, i never do)…but basically what was your final agreed on price, as in discount from msrp.

I qualify for the Fleet rebate as well. I’m getting them to offer 1k off invoice, plus 2000 lease cash, and 1500 fleet rebate. but my payments are still in the 6’s

brian, i know i’m a stranger, but would u mind sending me this info here or to my email vinodc(AT)gmail.com Its not that my dealer isnt willing to negioate, this guy has called me on his OWN twice to offer me employee purchase deals, he’s just adamant, if another dealer offered and I have it in writing, its there policy they will beat it. I atleast need to know the numbers you worked off.

Also brian, did u go with 12k miles? cause i only need 10kmiles actually.

And g, your the man, you sincerely take the time out to respond to all your readers, and couldn’t give you enough thanks man. I hope you make something form this blog atleast, if not, id glady donate for all your efforts. You’ve probably saved thousands of dollars to people, its the least I could do.

    • @vj. no problem. I’m do my best to keep up with the questions and such. Thanks for the donation offer by the way. I do appreciate it. Right now the site does okay. I am not exactly raking in the dough, but its self sustainable which was my goal. I’d like it if it could cover my lease payments every month, but I’m not there yet. LOL.

  14. Brian, yes would you PLEASE check your contract or if you know it, tell us what your purchase price was. honestly, now that you have the deal, would u even tell me where you bought it? i have family all over DC area, and no problem buying it there too.

  15. G, thanks, brian was kind enough to email me as well. He get a very awesome offer.

I actually spoke to a local dealer today, he is saying, if i can get access to a mercedes benz Employee purchase program(epp), the car is going for $429 a month!!! problem is, he doesn’t have any numbers to give out. But he said every xmas they always get them(true)….i’m wondering if I should be patient. Because my dealer when he has them, has been very honest about the EPP deals. Last time he called me FIRST when he got the EPP/Ambassador numbers, i sent 6 people in that SAME day. So he’s been loyal to me in that way. So as soon as i find out about these deals G, ill let you know.

  16. I just purchased the ML 550 from Deris Ceresa, the process was effortless. I would recommened the ML550 to anyone who needs a lot of space the car handles very well, this is a very solid vehicle, Love It. Deris, did all the leg work and negotiating. I can’t stress enough how effortlessely the transaction was. Every comparison that I attempted was above their price. The dealer was informed ahead of time, and there was little discussion. Practically a sign and drive proposition. Thanks!
