THE LIST is a monthly list of of cars that I consider a “solid” lease deal. The list is updated regularly, so check it often. Each car on this list assumes the following conditions:
- Inception fees (1st month payment, DMV, doc fee, bank fee, tire tax and possible security deposit) will be paid at signing.
- Local Taxes not included.
- 36-month/15k terms unless specified.
- Cars equipped with most common options
PREVIOUS LISTS
| December 2009 | Sale Price | Monthly Payment | ||||
| Make/Model | MSRP | Invoice | MSRP | Invoice | ||
| VW CC 2.0T Sport | 28,350 | $26,469 | $NA | $380 | ||
| NOTE: Same deal as November. Sign Then Drive. MF is 0.00134 with a 52% residual. | ||||||
| 2010 Audi A3 2.0T Premium | $31,195 | $29,070 | $NA | $417 | ||
| OPTIONS: Keeping it bare minimum here. Bluetooth, Moonroof, iPod connectivity. | ||||||
| 2010 BMW 328i | $36,390 | $31,955* | $NA | $422 | ||
| OPTIONS: Auto (which seems to have a rebate, making it free). Bluetooth connections, etc… | ||||||
| NOTE: The invoice price has the $1500 holiday lease cash applied. Changes are, you won’t actually get invoice + the rebate, but you should be able to get close to that. | ||||||
| 2010 Audi A4 2.0T Premium | $33,275 | $31,005 | $NA | $423 | ||
| OPTIONS: Again, keeping the options low, to keep the price tag low. Just the basics here. | ||||||
| 2010 Acura TSX V6 | $35,660 | $32,849 | $NA | $430 | ||
| NOTE: Rebate of $1500 is a goner. So payments jumped over $40 per month. Was a better deal last month. Rebate is back, so your payments should be under $400 before taxes with inception fees due at signing! Don’t sleep on this. | ||||||
| 2010 MB C300 Sport | $37,150 | $34,611 | $NA | $446 | ||
| OPTIONS: Just the COMMAND Package | ||||||
| NOTE: Invoice should be easy here, but I would take it a step further and tap into the holdback maybe about 2% of the MSRP. Also watch for that bank fee. | ||||||
| November 2009 | Sale Price | Monthly Payment | ||||
| Make/Model | MSRP | Invoice | MSRP | Invoice | ||
| 2010 Mercedes C300 | $42,425 | $39,517 | $592 | $509 | ||
| OPTIONS: Premium 1 Package, COMAND Package, 7-Speed Driver-Adaptive Automatic Transmission, Universal Media Interface, Panorama Sunroof. | ||||||
| NOTE: No dealer/customer cash, but MB has holdbacks, so feel free to tap into it. | ||||||
| 2010 Audi A4 2.0T Premium Plus Quattro | $40,375 | $37,608 | $615 | $535 | ||
| OPTIONS: Premium Plus, Navigation w/ Camera. | ||||||
| 2010 BMW 328i | $41,800 | $38,490 | $638 | $538 | ||
| OPTIONS: Premium, Navigation, Sport, Value, Automatic. | ||||||
| NOTE: There’s some customer cash to be had here ($1500), If you can get at least $1000 below invoice, this is the winner for the month. | ||||||
| NOTE: Audi isn’t running a special on the A4s right now, so try to shoot for a invoice price tag. | ||||||
| October 2009 | Sale Price | Monthly Payment | ||||
| Make/Model | MSRP | Invoice | MSRP | Invoice | ||
| 2010 Mercedes ML350 4matic | $53,025 | $49,375 | $796 | $691 | ||
| OPTIONS: Technology Package. | ||||||
| NOTE: If you notice on the ML October post, Brian, VJ and I were in a discussion regarding Brian’s deal for a ML with about $10k off the MSRP. I would recommend shooting for that sale price. Keep on thing in mind though. There are rebates, fleet discounts on this. You probably can’t get this deal with a floor sales guy. Brian closed his deal yesterday for about $580 a month and about $850 due at signing. 36mo/12k a year. | ||||||
| 2010 Acura TL Tech | $39,495 | $36,366 | $649 | $556 | ||
| OPTIONS: Technology Package. | ||||||
| NOTE: Factor in the $2500 dealer cash that’s available for leases. That will turn this from a bad lease into a good lease with payments around $488. | ||||||
| 2010 Acura TSX V6 Base | $35,660 | $31,349 | $513 | $387 | ||
| OPTIONS: None. | ||||||
| NOTE: Remember to apply the dealer cash of $1500 on the lease. Ideally, you want to get invoice then apply the cash. | ||||||
| 2010 Audi A3 2.0T quattro Premium | $32,525 | $30,306 | $473 | $410 | ||
| OPTIONS: Rear-Side Airbags, Aluminum Roof Rails. | ||||||
| NOTE: There are no discounts you can have here, so you will need to negotiate an attractive sale price in order to make it happen. Adjust your mileage allowance to drop the payments further. This is a pretty barebones model, adding any other option will usually require you to upgrade to the Premium Plus trim; which has different residuals and money factors. (No, you won’t be getting those fancy LEDs unless you get the Premium Plus package). | ||||||
| 2010 Audi A4 2.0T Premium quattro Sedan | $36,825 | $34,306 | $542 | $469 | ||
| OPTIONS: 18″ Sports Package, Bluetooth, Audi Music Interface. | ||||||
| NOTE: With Audi’s, getting invoice is still not exactly great since the spread between MSRP and Invoice price is nowhere near 10% of the MSRP. To add to that frustration, Audi’s don’t have holdback, so trying to tap below invoice will prove challenging so early in the model year. | ||||||
| September 2009 | Sale Price | Monthly Payment | ||||
| Make/Model | MSRP | Invoice | MSRP | Invoice | ||
| 2009 Nissan Maxima SV | $37,030 | $33,810 | $530 | $439 | ||
| OPTIONS: Premium Package. | ||||||
| NOTE: There is $1750 customer cash that can’t be combined towards their special financing, and an additional $1000 for those who are trading in GM vehicles. | ||||||
| 2009 Nissan Altima S | $27,420 | $25,423 | $380 | $323 | ||
| OPTIONS: SL, Connection, Convenience Plus and Convenience Packages. Plus floor mats and splash guards. | ||||||
| NOTE: There are a bundle of rebates available to qualifying customers HERE. Check with ones apply to you and add apply it to your offer. As you can see, at invoice, the lease is already very attractive so if you can get the price even lower than invoice, you just might be able to get it in the low $300s after tax. | ||||||
| August 2009 | Sale Price | Monthly Payment | ||||
| Make/Model | MSRP | Invoice | MSRP | Invoice | ||
| 2009 Infiniti G37 Journey Sedan | $37,815 | $34,822 | $547 | $460 | ||
| OPTIONS: Navi & Tech Packages. | ||||||
| NOTE: There is $2500 dealer cash, but chances are that this is only available towards a purchase instead of a lease. There is $1,000 Lease Loyalty cash if you are an existing Infiniti owner. | ||||||
| 2009 BMW 328ix Coupe | $40,495 | $37,335 | $558 | $466 | ||
| OPTIONS: auto tranny; memory seats; xenon headlights; bmw assist/bluetooth; paddle-shifters. | ||||||
| 2009 Infiniti G37 Sport Coupe | $41,215 | $37,947 | $574 | $477 | ||
| OPTIONS: Navi & Tech Packages. | ||||||

| 2009 BMW 328i Sedan | $38,495 | $35,495 | $592 | $502 | ||
| OPTIONS: auto tranny; memory seats; xenon headlights; bmw assist/bluetooth; paddle-shifters. | ||||||
| NOTE: The lease cash got bumped to $2000 from $1000. Be sure to factor that into your final sale price. | ||||||
| 2009 BMW X5 4.8i | $64,325 | $59,170 | $941 | $790 | ||
| OPTIONS: Comfort Access, Tech and Sports Packages. | ||||||
| NOTE: $1750 lease cash is still in effect, same as last month. | ||||||
| 2009 BMW X6 5.0i | $72,875 | $67,055 | $1051 | $879 | ||
| OPTIONS: Premium & Sport Packages. | ||||||
| NOTE: same $1750 lease cash still available. | ||||||

| 2009 Mercedes C300 Sport* | $37,855 | $35,266 | $497 | $441 | ||
| OPTIONS: auto; panorama moonroof; leather | ||||||
| 2009 Infiniti G37 Journey Sedan | $37,815 | $34,822 | $547 | $460 | ||
| OPTIONS: Navi & Tech Packages. | ||||||
| NOTE: There is $2500 dealer cash, but chances are that this is only available towards a purchase instead of a lease. | ||||||
| 2009 BMW 328ix Coupe | $40,495 | $37,335 | $558 | $466 | ||
| OPTIONS: auto tranny; memory seats; xenon headlights; bmw assist/bluetooth; paddle-shifters. | ||||||
| 2009 Audi A4 2.0T Premium quattro | $34,725 | $32,353 | $537 | $469 | ||
| OPTIONS: Bluetooth & Airbags. | ||||||
| NOTE: $1500 loyalty cash and $2500 dealer cash. You can even combine both. Not sure if dealer cash can be used on a lease, but that wouldn’t stop me from factoring it into my offer. | ||||||
| 2009 Infiniti G37 Sport Coupe | $41,215 | $37,947 | $574 | $477 | ||
| OPTIONS: Navi & Tech Packages. | ||||||
| NOTE: There is $2500 dealer cash, but chances are that this is only available towards a purchase instead of a lease. | ||||||
| 2009 BMW 328i Sedan | $38,495 | $35,495 | $592 | $502 | ||
| OPTIONS: auto tranny; memory seats; xenon headlights; bmw assist/bluetooth; paddle-shifters. | ||||||
| NOTE: there is $2260 in rebates on the sedan, so factor that into your final sale price, or split it $1000 towards the inception and $1260 option credit towards the cap cost. In other words, your payment should be better than the invoice estimate I have here. | ||||||
| 2009 Audi A3 2.0T quattro Premium | $36,075 | $33,610 | $576 | $505 | ||
| OPTIONS: Open Sky Sunroof, Convenience Package, Premium Package, Rear Side Airbags, 6-CD changer. | ||||||
| NOTE: I might have gone a bit crazy on the options. Definitely trim it down a bit if you don’t need some of the extras. | ||||||
| 2009 Infiniti EX35 | $42,865 | $39,318 | $628 | $526 | ||
| OPTIONS: Premium, Tech and Navi. | ||||||
| 2009 Audi Q5 3.2L Premium | $40,775 | $37,981 | $630 | $551 | ||
| OPTIONS: Pano moonroof, Bluetooth, Homelink, Rear Side Airbags, 6-CD changer. | ||||||
| 2009 BMW Z4 sDrive30i | $50,475 | $46,465 | $715 | $598 | ||
| OPTIONS: Premium Package. | ||||||
| 2009 Mercedes SLK300* | $53,905 | $50,194 | $711 | $634 | ||
| OPTIONS: Premium & Sport Packages. | ||||||
| NOTE: $5000 lease cash, 4-5 bucks of interest per month makes this a pretty solid roaster to lease. | ||||||
| 2009 Mercedes ML350* | $50,765 | $47,273 | $730 | $654 | ||
| OPTIONS: Premium, Heated Seats, Metallic Paint. | ||||||
| NOTE: $2000 lease cash runs through end of July. My estimates also do not include the rebates, so factor those into your sale price. | ||||||
| 2009 Audi A6 3.0L quattro Premium Plus | $52,775 | $49,139 | $808 | $707 | ||
| OPTIONS: Premium Plus, Rear Side Airbags. | ||||||
| 2009 BMW X5 4.8i | $64,325 | $59,170 | $941 | $790 | ||
| OPTIONS: Comfort Access, Tech and Sports Packages. | ||||||
| NOTE: apparently, there is also a $1750 lease cash on the X5, so I reconsidered the idea of adding this truck into THE LIST. Remember to do the same as with the X6. Take out a few packages if you want to lower your monthly payments. Also, look into MSDs to drop things further. | ||||||
| 2009 Mercedes GL450* | $66,675 | $62,069 | $912 | $813 | ||
| OPTIONS: Premium 1 Package. | ||||||
| 2009 BMW X6 5.0i | $72,875 | $67,055 | $1051 | $879 | ||
| OPTIONS: Premium & Sport Packages. | ||||||
| NOTE: the current lease promo from BMW offers $1750 lease cash for the X6. Be sure to take into consideration. You can further drop the payments by option for the 12k miles lease, which increases the residual up by 2%. Drop some multiple security deposits and you should be see a pretty decent deal out of this. If this is too much for you, drop the sports package. | ||||||
| * 48-month lease | ||||||

nope, not a typo. I used to post the 10k numbers and those were low as is. These are 15k numbers so they should be lower. I think Audi lowered residuals across the board, which is why most of their lineup’s residuals are in the low 50s or less.
G – I’m looking to lease (36 mo) a new e350 coupe. High 700’s credit. Assuming Premium Package 1, maybe Premium Package 2, what do you think I should be shooting for as a monthly with as little down as possile? Appreciate your feedback.
@brian. lets assume Premium Package 2 with a MSRP of $55,275 and sale price of invoice or $51,467. 36m/12k per year term (non-metallic paint)…$794 per month + tax with like $2500 due at signing (or so, give or take a few hundred bucks). If you opt for the Premium 1 packaged, you should save a little over $30 per month. If your dealer decides to tap into the holdback, you should be able to get one of these in the high $700 to low $800 per month instead (after taxes). With that said, I don’t think its a smart financial move since the interest paid is about 1/3 of the actual payment. Quite insane if you ask me. But I’m not your accountant or financial planner, so you be the judge.
So correct me if I’m wrong here, but it looks like what your saying is that it doesn’t make sense to lease since the interest rate/MF is so high? I’ve been shooting around a couple ideas, like leasing it in Detroit or New Orleans and having them ship it out to SoCal. I’ve also heard car brokers may be able to arrange ‘the best’ deals? Thoughts on the above…with respect to monthly payment/interest rates?
Rediculous! You can’t hardly even find a Q5 on any of the lots in the Denver area and Audi Financial is saying these cars are going to be worth less?
@brian. yes. I think the interest rate is a bit high, making this a more expensive lease than it has to be. Brokers aren’t a bad idea, but keep an eye out on who the lender is and what the fees are going to be (specially if they are trucking it from out of the state). Just remember that they are middlemen, and they have to make money somehow, so “the best” deal may not necessarily mean it’s the cheapest.
agreed. however, having a low residual isn’t always a bad idea. In a perfect leasing world, you want the highest residual, but what if you wanted to sell the car before the lease expires? Or what if you want to buy out the car at lease end? That is when lower residuals come in handy. Of course, availability is a whole different issue. LOL. I wouldn’t worry about it too much, remember that the economy hasn’t been very good as of late so many manufacturers cut production during the holidays, this in turn creates a lower supply. This is one of the reasons why CC Sport is still hard to come by right now. Give it a few months and production should ramp up.
G, any tips on this lease offer: It’s a 2010 TL Lease. $0 due at signing, $0 first month’s payment, $0 down payment. Excludes taxes, titles and fees. $440/month for 36 months. 10k/year. MSRP $35,915, net cap cost $33,835.11 which includes $595 deal acquisition fee. Seems like a decent deal. What if I wanted the TL Tech, or TL Tech with SH-AWD, plus 15k/year?
FYI, my bank, USAA, offers a car buying service:
TL Base: MSRP-$35,915 / USAA-$31,133
TL Tech: MSRP-$39,645 / USAA-$34,054
TL Tech SH-AWD-$43,195 / USAA-$37,309
Regarding the TL lease, assuming the 33835 includes all fees and 1st month payment, then it sound a bit high. If it doesn’t, then it sounds about right. The Tech models have rebates, but if you aren’t financing through AHFC, then you might not qualify.
As for USAA, I think those are pretty competitive prices…isn’t this bank like a credit union were you gotta be a member in order to get some of the services?
The TL lease deal is a nationwide Acura lease deal that goes through March 31, 2010. It says it excludes taxes, titles, and fees.
As for USAA:
United Services Automobile Association (USAA) is a Fortune 500[2] financial services company offering banking, investing, and insurance to people and families that serve, or served, in the United States military.
USAA was founded in 1922 by a group of U.S. Army officers to self-insure each other when they were unable to secure auto insurance due to the perception that they were a high-risk group.[3] USAA has since expanded to serve all members of the Armed Forces and all who served honorably in the US Armed Forces, as well as their families with property & casualty insurance, banking, life insurance, investment and financial planning products and services.
@Daniel
I was in your boat but with a lower mf (BMW 5) try max msd’s and near invoice price your #s should be near to what you wanna see (mid $600s)
Hey G – do you have the residuals on the 2010 Accord LX and LX Premium Sedans based on 36 months and 15K miles?
Hey do you have the new (March) numbers for the G37S Jouney? Are they the same as Feb? Thanks!
You can get a good deal on the E 350 if you qualify for loyalty and fleet discounts (4k total). Just closed on:
E350 Premium 1 with wood wheel. 57,250 msrp.
12k miles 39 months
585 per month with taxes. A little under 4k down. .00245 money factor- lower than published.
Hi G – Great website, been reading it for while now. Looking for your expert advice. Would like to get a Q5 – Premium Plus. Have been quoted the following: 42m/12k, 0 down, taxes rolled (7.375) in for 603/mo.
From my calculator it looks like Res and MF and spot on with a selling price of 40,600 (1200 over invoice). They also threw in $500 loyalty for me.
Do you think this is a good deal? Should I hold out for a lower selling price, or try to get them to throw in AudiCare or something (this might change residual)? Would love to have that first digit be a “5″.
Thx
Hey F.D.
2010 accord LX/LX-P 36/15K 58%
Frank can you give us the details? Did you get the car for a sale price with the fleet and loyalty taken off the sale price? Than the 4k down.
