2013 Volkswagen Lease Rates – March 2013

UPDATE: VW has revised their lease rates. Please note the changes below.

VW rates updated for March. It’s dropped a little bit compared to last month. I anticipate numbers to remain the same through April, with updates rates rolling in May. As always, I will update numbers if things change.

2013 Volkswagen Lease Rates – February 2013

February lease rates have changed from January. Unusual, but not completely unexpected. VW usually has decent late Winter/early Spring deals, which is reflected in the low money factors of many of their models.

On an unrelated note. I am driving the last 100 miles on the wife’s Jetta and I have to say, I’m going to miss it. It’s been fairly reliable and the interior has withstood the test of time, unlike my Sonata (will talk more about that in the future). VW builds pretty solid cars and I am definitely not opposed to leasing or buying another one down the road.

2013 Volkswage Lease Rates – January 2013

UPDATE: VW has revised their lease rates. Please note the changes below.

VW numbers look unchanged from Nov/Dec. Surprising since lease rates do not usually carry over this long. That’s not to say its a bad thing, I mean look at the numbers on the CC…practically no interest. Same goes for the Passat.

So we are getting ready to turn in the Jetta Wolfsburg after three years. We got about another 1500 miles to use up before it gets turned in and I have to say…its been a pleasant experience. Not too fond of the disposition fees and the turning “damage” (had a few scratches here and there but the inspector was rather generous). The good news is that these three were were relatively problem free so that’s good. Going to miss this little pocket rocket. One of the funner compact sedans out there. Leaps and bounds better than the current Jettas if you ask me.

2013 Volkswage Lease Rates – December 2012

Residuals have dropped and some models also received reductions in MF. Thats good because there’s some cash out there to go along with that. Folks have been getting ridiculous deals on the Passat right now, so that’s definitely the ride to look out for. The Jetta, CC also look like good leases this month. I personally really like the CC. Really elegant and classy looking ride.

2012-13 Volkswagen Lease Rates – October 2012

Due to the tough economic times and higher gas prices in California and, the wife and I have been bouncing around the idea of buying out her 2010 Jetta Wolfsburg. Originally, we were looking to get into a Honda Pilot because we could always use the room, unfortunately for us, gas prices have climbed nearly a dollar since last Tuesday here in the LA/OC area, so that idea has quickly gone out the window. So now, we are looking at the possibility of buying out the Jetta (I can get 4-year loan for about 2.5% through my local credit union), which isn’t half bad. Or the alternative is to maybe shop for a Tiguan or GTI and lock in a 0% or 1.9% for 5-years. VW has very good financing terms available which is great if you are open to that.

Personally, think you can go either way. If you can get some significant discounts, these lease rates are actually VERY attractive as well.

2012-13 Volkswagen Lease Rates – September 2012

I didn’t get the rest of the 2012s so the only comparison I have from August is the 2013 CC Sport Plus. The Residual dropped 1% and VWC raised the MF from 0.00001 to 0.00012. The upside is that the lease cash got bumped from $2500 to $3000. This practically keeps the lease rates the same as last month. Just in case you didn’t catch it, my estimate below is not a very aggressive deal. You can probably do better in most markets. One last thing I want to point out is the 0% financing that’s going around on select models. Most lease programs cannot beat 0% financing.  There are some that could (e.g. lease cash plus ultra low MF), but I haven’t seen one. If you think that there is a possibility you would want to keep a car past it’s lease maturity, I recommend going for 0% financing instead. Yes, I am recommending you to buy instead of leasing. Shocking, I know.
