2013 Acura Lease Rates – March 2013

Yickes! Acura bumped the MF for their cars to .00155 nearly across the board. That’s not a good thing. The good news is that they is dealer cash, loyalty, and conquest cash available. That should help offset some of the extra costs associated with the bump in MF.

No big changes here. Just the TL getting a residual drop and MF drop. That’s about it. Everything else seems to have stayed the same.

2013 Acura Lease Rates – January 2013

The ZDX is gone after the 2013 model year, so if you want one, better snag one this year. The rates don’t look like much right now, but wait until the summer rolls around, it should get better. Overall, nothing overly exiting. There is some dealer cash (Edmunds is showing $1500 through early March). I’m thinking about 10% off MSRP is a pretty safe discount on the TLs right now. ILX numbers looks attractive right now too, probably moving off the lots rather slowly. Anyway, dig around. The numbers aren’t all that scary so there might be something here.

Bank Acquisition Fees. What to Expect.

Here is a partial list of bank acquisition fees. If you have leased with a brand or bank that’s not listed here, please share with the rest of us. Fees marked with a (*) are unconfirmed.

UPDATE (12/10/2012) – Had a very interesting conversation with the Honda finance guy the other day regarding bank acquisition fees. My original understanding of bank fees was that they served as two things: 1) loan processing 2) GAP coverage (for most banks). However, there is another little known reason why the amount is so high…apparently, the bank (which is a separate entity from the manufacturer) uses portions of that fee to pay for an multi-million dollar umbrella policy for their leased vehicles in case the lessee damages property or kills someone. As you know, we live in a very “sue-friend” country and when the plaintiff can’t get money from the defendant, we all know who they sue next.

Acura – $595
Audi – $695
BMW – $725
Buick – $795
Chevrolet – $795
Ford– $595
Honda – $595
Hyundai – $595
Infiniti $595 $700
Jeep $795 (Ally)
Kia $595
Lexus – $695
Lincoln– $595
Mazda – $595 (Chase)
Mercedes-Benz – $795
Nissan – $595
Porsche – $895
Range Rover – $795
Subaru – $595
Toyota – $650
Volkswagen – $595
Volvo – $695

2013 Acura Lease Rates – December 2012

Updated! Added some 2012 and 2013 models plus revised some numbers.

Numbers looking pretty good this month. There is also some lease cash on select models so be sure to inquire about those. Acura has one of the best lease programs in town, so if you have never leased before, they are probably one of the best ones to go with. No disposition fees, damage waivers, no security deposit, no purchase-option fees. They even let you roll over unused miles from one lease to another! The only potential problem I see is that their cars are all that popular due to their unusual styling.

2012-13 Acura Lease Rates – October 2012

Pretty much the same for most models. Saw the car in person at the OC Auto Show and came away impressed in terms of what the car offered. I think the mainstream buyer probably wouldn’t suspect that this car was based off the Civic. I do have my concerns about the drivetrain though. I haven’t driven it, but I fear it may be a bit gutless in terms of performance. The good news is that lease looks pretty cheap (see below)

Usual drop in MF due to drop in residual, nothing out of the norm. There should also be a good amount of cash incentives available for most 2012 models.

2012-13 Acura Lease Rates – August 2012

There has been a reduction in MF on the IXL this month. I am willing to bet this has something to do with the fact that the IXL is probably not selling all that well. I haven’t seen the actual sales numbers, but my gut feeling is that most people have figured out that the IXL is pretty gutless for a car that is retailing for nearly 30k. Looking over at TrueCar sales data in my area, it looks like of those that decided to get one, a good number of them at getting then at dealer cost. Are you surprised? I’m not.
