2011 GM Lease Rates – April 2011

Due to a lack of lease rates from GM, I decided to pool together all GM models and put them in one post. Please note that GM uses interest rates instead of money factors, so the money factors listed below are approximations of what the interest rates would be.

The money factors are really low right now, plus there are some good cash incentives available to help with the poor residual values. These vehicles seem to be very good candidates to lease and then buy out at lease-end. Still not in the 90+ RWG rating range, but it’s at least they are looking somewhat more promising.

Here is a sample calculation based on TrueCar’s Southern California sale price and do not include local taxes. Please note that your dealer calculations may vary due to local fees/taxes.

2011 Chevy Cruze Eco (24mo)
MSRP – $19,175
Sale Price – $17256 (with $1250 cash incentive)
Monthly – $242+ tax
RWG Rating – 85.5

2011 Chevy Cruze Eco (36mo)
MSRP – $19,175
Sale Price – $17256 (with $1100 cash incentive)
Monthly – $226+ tax
RWG Rating – 86.1

2011 Cadillac Lease Rates – March 2011

Not much to say here. The low residual value doesn’t really make this a great lease despite having very little in terms of “rent charge”. The problem here is the discount. In So Cal, it’s about 5% off MSRP according the TrueCar.com. This isn’t a lot considering the cost of this vehicle. Then again, this a limited production model, so you probably will be hard pressed to find it of dirt cheap (unless it goes on clearance). If you wanted to do the whole “Lease-to-Buy“, this wouldn’t be too bad since the lowest APR available is about 1.9% for only

There is some lease cash to be had (i.e. CTS-V gets $2,350) so be sure to ask your dealer.

2011 Cadillac Lease Rates – December 2010

logo_caddyUPDATE: Rman850r sent me the 24-month term lease rates which actually look quite excellent for this length of a term. There is also $1500 cash on the coupes and $2500 on the sedan. Expect payments to be in the $500s per month range with inception fees due at signing for a well equipped model. This applies to the SRX as well.

My Take: Cadillac seems to be making a strong push with their leases nowadays. This is refreshing since GM pretty much fell off the leasing world for the past couple years. GM, like Ford, quotes the MF as an interest rate, which isn’t too bad since it gives the average consumer a clear idea as to much financing their loan has. In an effort to keep things consistent, I have converted the interest rate into a money factor. Keep in mind that these are approximations to the actual interest rate. You can multiply the MF by 2400 to get the interest rate being used.

As for the cars, they are as good as they were last month. With the CTS competing well against cars like the A6, 5-series, E-class and M35.

2011 Cadillac Lease Rates – November 2010

logo_caddyMy Take: I must say, the CTS coupe numbers actually look decent for a GM vehicle. Just look at how low the money factor is!! That breaks down to 0.9% for the 24-month lease and 0.6% for the 36-month lease. The residuals are not exactly great, but they are better than a lot of cars. To sweeten the deal, Ally bank has a $1,550 rebate you can use, which should offset the low residual by a few percentage points. Here’s a recommendation: Keep an eye out on GM vehicles because I am starting to see some of their leases come back and they look pretty competitive.

Here’s a quick sample payment for a CTS Performance RWD based on SoCal numbers (which should apply to most areas with good dealer competition):

MSRP $47655
TrueCar Sale Price $44772

Monthly $572 + tax. (85 rating on my calculator)

I think that with a little more aggressive sale price, this lease could become even more attractive.

2011 Cadillac Lease Rates – October 2010

logo_caddyMy Take: I’m not seeing anything that would make my blood pressure rise over here. It’s a great car, but the residual values are so bad, I just can’t see myself recommending it as a lease.

2010 Cadillac Lease Rates – July 2010

logo_caddyMy Take: Cadillac’s purchase financing is 0% APR for up to 72 months (for well-qualified buyers), which beats the heck out of any lease program they may have right now. If you are considering a luxury sedan you want to own, the CTS may not be a bad idea. Caddy’s have come a long way and the CTS in particular, it’s in a class of it’s own. Priced like an entry level luxury compact sedan, but it’s more like a mid-sized one.

2010 Cadillac CTS, SRX Lease Rates – March 2010

logo_caddyMy Take: GMAC is back into the leasing business and they are trying to make things interesting by providing some lease support on the more popular SRX and CTS models. I still think the residuals are bit low, but not that seems to be the case with a lot of manufacturers these days. The CTS does have a very low money factor, so it’s worth a look. The SRX isn’t all that bad either, but I would prefer it to be in the low .00100s or lower. Either way, its worth checking out if you are in the market for something like the X3 or the Q5. This could be a decent alternative.

August 2008 Lease Rates for 08 Cadillac CTS, Subaru WRX STi, GMC Acadia and Porsche Boxster

My Take: Here are some other “bleh” leases going on this month. We have a Caddy CTS (nice car, but I fear the reliability), WRX STi (AWD rice rocket, with wings), Acadia (happens to get as much MPG as my G37. Shocking, I know) and the Porsche Boxter (or Porkster as some would call it). I don’t think there’s much of demand for these cars right now, so if you want to see some numbers, just leave a comment and I’ll punch in some numbers. Better yet, you can use the lease calculator and punch in your own numbers and comment on your discoveries! Then I’ll comment on them! YEY, that would be nice! Haahaa.
