2013 Hyundai Lease Rates – January 2013

Honestly, I was expecting worse, but they actually look half-decent. Pretty much the standard/expected reduction in residual and money factor we’ve come to expect as time goes by. Edmunds’ is not showing incentives for Hyundais on their website, so either they aren’t giving out any this month or Edmunds hasn’t posted any. Check with your dealer, I wouldn’t be surprised if there are a few hundred laying around for current customers.

2012-13 Hyundai Lease Rates – December 2012

Here are December rates. Numbers are not completely horrible even if the MF is a bit high, the higher residual seems to help a lot. There is some cash available on most models so make sure you inquire about them to see if you qualify.

2012-13 Hyundai Lease Rates – October 2012

Looks like Hyundai revised their rates a bit. I didn’t expect rates to change this month, but it looks like residuals have dropped so Hyundai had to drop the money factor too. Shouldn’t be a huge chance from last month in terms of payments though. I’m eagerly anticipating the Holiday season. I am hoping for big things. BTW, the Santa Fe is out and it look GREAT!

2012-13 Hyundai Lease Rates – September 2012

Pretty much usual residual and MF drop I expected. For those of you who are new, expect most lease rates to change every other month. Typically, Sept/Oct remain the same and Nov/Dec is when the special Holiday promos go into effect. Leasing used to be much better during the Spring/Summer time some years ago. Now, the deals are typically found during the Fall/Winter season. I expect the residuals/mfs to drop one more time before we close out the season.

2012-13 Hyundai Lease Rates – August 2013

Other than the Azera getting a MF drop, everything stays the same. Took my Sonata in for warranty work this morning and got a chance to talk to my sales guy. He’s been saying the Sonata SE Turbo is pretty rare these days (in CA at least), so they are marking it up $1000 over MSRP. Silly isn’t it? That got me thinking, it might be a good time to trade my Sonata in…Tempting. Anyway, I spent some time checking out the Azera and it really impressed me. It’s VERY plush and the interior materials are high-grade. It even has rear seat warmers and shaders, standard. Navi, standard as well. The only upgrade is a $4000 Tech package that adds Xenons, Pano, Premium sound, vented sets, etc…pretty nice if you ask me. Despite this, I recommend most of you skipping generation 1 of any newly redesign model, unless you don’t mind spending time at the dealer like I did today.

2012-13 Hyundai Lease Rates – June 2012

2012 model lease rates remain unchanged. 2013 don’t look half bad either. The numbers for the Azera are out and they look average. If you compared it to the Lexus ES350, they aren’t too far off from each other. A couple things to be aware of though; Hyundai has bumped the prices to many of their 2013 models significantly. Sure, they remain well equipped, but the price gap between comparable models seems to be dwindling. See stories below:

2013 Hyundai Equus Officially Hits $60,000 Mark, Thanks To Price Hike
2013 Hyundai Elantra Gets Price Hike
2013 Hyundai Accent Gets $2,000 Price Increase

So there you have it, expect to pay more for a Hyundai going forward.

I have mixed feelings because I feel it is a little too early in the game to be jacking up the prices by the thousands (about two years ago, I would have never considered leasing a Hyundai).  Will I get another Hyundai after my Sonata? Probably, but the price advantage is slowly disappearing, which may dissuade me from getting another one down the road.

2012-13 Hyundai Lease Rates – May 2012

Most numbers have remained the same. Lease rates for the Azera are now available. They look average in my opinion, but a good deal will have to come down to how much off MSRP you are able to knock off. Since the car has just been introduced to the public, I suspect deep discounts will be tough. On another note, the 2013 Elantra has been released and the residual is fantastic. The MF, not so much. Deep discounts have always been tough to get on this popular car so I would recommend buying it in cash or at a lower than 4.9% loan.

Below, you will see the Sonata SE Turbo (which I am currently leasing) calculations. They are definitely improved compared to last month, but could use a little more work.
