August 2008 Lease Rate for 08 Infiniti EX35

My Take: Good News! Last month’s super low MF for the EX35 stays the same for August. Not to mention 0% financing is available as well. So leasing or buying looks like a great deal right now for the EX35. The rates look so good that I will be estimating payments for all four trims at 24mo and 36mo terms. For those people in Southern California, I can refer you to solid Infiniti sales guy.

  • 2008 Infiniti EX35 2WD
  • MSRP $32,765
  • Invoice $30,208
  • Standard inception fees + tax not included

2008 Infiniti EX35 2WD
24 Month – Residual 66% of MSRP – .00001 Base Rate
36 Month – Residual 54% of MSRP – .00002 Base Rate

24mo Payment: $358 at invoice, $465 at MSRP
36mo Payment: $349 at invoice, $420 at MSRP

Edmunds TMV indicates about $1800 under invoice, but the lowest quote I’ve personally seen is $200 under invoice for a lease. From what I was told, $1800 under invoice is only attainable if you purchase. In any case, how attractive is this? $349 a month? If you can get that $200 under invoice price at your dealer, that’s another $9 off per month on a 24mo and $7 on a 36mo. You can cut the payments further by going for 12k miles per year. Now the only question is, can you find a base EX35 2WD in your area? They are probably quite rare.

  • EX35 Journey 2WD + Premium + Tech + Navi Packages
  • MSRP $42,565
  • Invoice $38,848
  • Standard inception fees + tax not included

2008 Infiniti EX35 Journey 2WD
24 Month – Residual 61% of MSRP – .00001 Base Rate
36 Month – Residual 51% of MSRP – .00002 Base Rate

24mo Payment: $537 at invoice, $692 at MSRP
36mo Payment: $477 at invoice, $580 at MSRP

The numbers look much higher here due to a few reason; lower residual, high price tag. You can drive down the payments by taking off a few packages, opting for 12k lease and asking for a that $200 under invoice price I was quoted in July. You could be looking at low $400s on the 36mo lease if you can manage that. The Journey 2WD trim should be more abundant than the Base 2WD model. This is probably what I would have gone with hadw aited until August to lease.

  • 2008 Infiniti EX35 AWD
  • MSRP $34,165
  • Invoice $31,491
  • Standard inception fees + tax not included

2008 Infiniti EX35 AWD
24 Month – Residual 67% of MSRP – .00014 Base Rate
36 Month – Residual 56% of MSRP – .00057 Base Rate

24mo Payment: $366 at invoice, $477 at MSRP
36mo Payment: $372 at invoice, $448 at MSRP

Notice something interesting here. The 24mo/15k lease at invoice is actually cheapest. That’s a good deal if you ask me. If you need AWD, but don’t need all the extras, this is the car to get.

  • EX35 Journey AWD + Premium + Tech + Navi Packages
  • MSRP $43,965
  • Invoice $40,131
  • Standard inception fees + tax not included

2008 Infiniti EX35 Journey AWD
24 Month – Residual 63% of MSRP – .00014 Base Rate
36 Month – Residual 52% of MSRP – .00057 Base Rate

24mo Payment: $527 at invoice, $688 at MSRP
36mo Payment: $515 at invoice, $624 at MSRP

Not too bad here. You’re looking at a near-loaded model, so payments aren’t going to be in the high $300s to low $400s. I recommend opting for the 24mo lease if you can get it to be lower than a 36mo lease because at the end of 36 months, your tires will more than likely need to be replaced. Have you ever looked at how much four 17″ or 18″ tires cost recently? Not Cheap.

If you are looking to buy/lease a EX35, now is the time!

* Residuals posted are for 15K miles/year.

  1. Thanks D!
No much we can do about the G35x’s MF. But below invoice price should help. It is actually less than $1 cheaper to lease at 24mo than it is at 36mo. Assuming invoice price, we’re looking at $417 vs $416 on the G35x. With no money down, just inception fees and taxes. This is for a G35x with Premium package. Not too bad, cheaper than a EX35 AWD with Premium.

  2. What’s the deal with the $4000 mfr to dealer incentive on the EX? I was told this was applicable to leases. Do you think it might be possible to get a dealer to go for $3000 under invoice since they would still have $1000 to work with?

  3. vx: Of the dealers I’ve spoken to, most aren’t willing to go too far below invoice. There are some dealers out there that really want to move inventory, so they could give a heftier discount, but $3000 might be pushing it.

  4. VX: weirdest thing just happen. I approved your comment and it still got deleted for some odd reason. Sorry about that.
The payments exclude tax, but assume you will pay the standard inception fee of 1st month payment, bank, doc, dmv & tire fees.
for the sub-$400 quote you got, did they tell you how much was due at signing? The only way to get under $400 is to go with the base models and going for invoice or under invoice price. For an well equipped journey model, you will need to pay in the $400-$500 range with just inception fees. I normally suggest putting multiple security deposits on cars to lower their MF, but this car’s MF is probably as low as it goes.

  5. Sorry, type-o in my last post. Quote was for $495 for 36 months with premium + nav + tech, not $395. This is after tax and with 10k miles/yr which yields a 53% residual according to them. Quote without tech from a different dealer was $468 after tax.

  6. VX: Depending on your sales tax, I think you might be paying for slightly above invoice. I think you can do a bit better since I’ve seen invoice or slightly below invoice prices. But it all depends on your area too. Some dealerships will not go below a certain point. The invoice price I used on the EX 2WD Journey on this example comes out to be $515 with my local taxes (8.25%) included. That’s for the 36mo/15k term. At 10k per year, I’m looking at about $490 a month + inception fees at signing. So you might be just a few hundred over invoice here. OR they may be rolling a fee into your lease loan.

  7. I’m in the L.A. area. Actually $490 is what they came down to eventually. Still seems like a lot for this car though, probably because of the high price tag. Perhaps things might look better in September, maybe allowing the $4k mrf. to dealer incentives to be used for leases also?

  8. At $490, it looks like they are going with invoice. I think part of the reason it feels like it’s too much is because the car is practically loaded. Then there’s the feeling that you are paying almost $500 for a Lux Nissan Rogue. It doesn’t bother me personally. There aren’t many crossovers out there that are this loaded and going for under $500.

I suspect the rates will get worse. I don’t see how they can improve on the MF. The residual should drop. You could take a chance to hope for the $4k mfg cash. It’s a risk. If you have a backup, i would wait. Otherwise, I’d pull the trigger.

What dealership are you working with btw?

  9. Yes, MF is not going to get lower nor is residual going to get better. The hope would be incentives getting more aggressive. I’m not 100% sold on going with the EX so it’s not a big risk if things get worse, I’ll just get a different car. As far as dealers, I sat down with Miller Infiniti in Van Nuys (can walk to dealership from home) and got numbers via email from Glendale. I talked to your guy Clint in Cerritos as well but it’s too far away for me unless the deal is that much better.

  10. I see. well, if you aren’t sold on it, I think you should wait too. Not sure if leases are going to get better towards the end of the year (traditionally that isn’t the case, even with cash incentives). But I think if you aren’t in a hurry, maybe wait til early next year to see if the numbers get better on the 09s.

Regarding Clint over at Cerritos. I think he stopped doing internet sales, which is a shame since he is a really cool guy and always treated me right. Oh well, tough times in the auto biz lately.

  11. G- You seem to be the authority especially regarding Infiniti. I am about to pull the trigger on an 08 G35 Premium being sold to me at invoice plus getting $500 conquest. I am only paying 1st payment and tags ($570 tags here in AZ) for a total right around $1,100 up front. Payment is $469+tax 12K/24mos. Should I be considering an EX35?? Are they as fun to drive and what packages would make it comparable to the g35+premium (do you need luxe or luxe elite, etc.)? Thanks for the help.

  12. ix007: Thanks for the compliments! I certainly have visited the Infiniti dealerships a lot, so I tend to know a little bit more on them. I haven’t driven the EX35 because I didn’t really considered it at the time I was looking for an Infiniti (the rates were horrible). I did drive the G35 and it I had a blast. I only opted for the G37 because I like the style and didn’t need 4 doors. But the 35 is certainly just as fast as the 37. As far as the luxe and luxe elite packages, you can find one without those packages. I personally don’t care for the wood trim from Infiniti, it looks very artificial. I do know that the EX has a black interior with a glossy black trim. It’s VERY nice in my opinion. As far as which to pic, I think the sedan seems to have a better lease payments than the EX, similarly equipped. The question is this, do you need the room? Remember, the G35’s rear seats don’t fold down.

  13. Isn’t there like $4,000 in manufacturer to dealer money combined with $500 Conquest cash on the EX35. That would have to get the cap cost pretty low, wouldn’t it?

  14. ix007: Since that’s mfg to dealer cash, that’s given at dealer’s discretion. I haven’t met a dealer willing to share the entire $4000. Those who are willing to give most of it away only do so on purchases, not leases. You can try asking for it though, specially since it’s the end of the month. Some dealers might be willing take a loss in order to meet their quota.

  15. Is there different residuals based on the premium package, tech, nav. adds on the EX? I do have two kids, so the EX35 would function as well, especially if it could be had at the right price. Is the residual and MF for a EX35 2WD Journey, Premium Luxe Elite at 62% (12k/24mos) and .00001??

  16. Yes, the residual you are looking is correct. According to Dave ISM (who posts here occasionally and happens to be an Infiniti Sales Manager), the residual only goes up 1% from 15k to 12k on 24mo leases.
Residual also changes when you go from a base EX35 2WD to a Journey EX35 2WD. Journey or Base is a trim, not a package, so the packages themselves do not affect the residual.

  17. Awesome…..thank you so much for the help. Based on the lease guide calculator: I will have to get the EX-35 with the options I want for $2000 total under invoice to get to the same monthly payment as the G35 I have been quoted at $500 under invoice. Could be a very easy decision, LOL. Thanks for a great site and forum!!!

  18. ix007: Glad to help. If you are able to get that price, please come back and let the community know! Thanks!
