2010 Audi A5, S5 Lease Rates – December 2009

logo_audiMy Take: There’s is a slight change in the lease rates for the A5/S5 this month, however, if you are going with a 24 or 36 month lease, it won’t affect you. The change is strictly on the 48-month lease, which gets a drop in the money factor, making the 48-month lease a little cheaper than last month. Not that it really matters since you shouldn’t really be considering 48-month leases right now on ANY Audi due to wear and tear.

  1. Hey great site!!

I’m in the process of trying to set up a deal to lease a 2.0T A5 premium plus package. I dont have exact numbers such as the residual and money rate thats being offered because this is my 1st time leasing a car and I just read about the whole process and what each term means and how its calculated. I am going to negociate however was wondering if you would have any info as to how to go about the deal.

I went to 3 diff dealers. The best deal I have so far is for a PP package A5 with the Nav pack, B&O Sound. The MSRP is approx $45K. How much should I try to get that down to. I was offering 3000 for a down payment however after reading about leasing, putting down a down payment as high as that hasnt been mentioned a lot. The payments that I was offered have been for $652 per month which includes tax here in NJ which is 7.25%

Do you think that’s a good deal or should I try to negotiate more? I just saw the residual and money rates and according to those numbers, I think I am getting a good deal however I rather get some more advice. I believe the selling price the dealer is giving is appox in the 43K range. What should I try to bring the price down to if you think that is too high? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

  2. Shy,
Since G is gone I can try to help you out. Have you completed the deal on the A5 yet? That’s the next car on my list – probably later in 2010. As you have probably read the thing you want to do is negotiate the price of the vehicle – not the monthly payment. The lease numbers should all be the same since the lease will mostly likely come through Audi. Let me know if you have any questions and I will try to help out.
