My Take: Finally! The comprehensive list of 09 BMW lease rates is out! The 1-series practically remains unchanged, but BMWFS seems to have cut the money factors a bit on the 3-series, with the residual values remaining unchanged. That good news for those looking to get into a the 3-series. The 1-series is worth a look still due to it’s unusually high residual value. Other notable models include the 528i and the X5. Please keep in mind that BMW dealers seem to be oblivious to the fact that there is a recession going on, so they won’t exactly lease you the car for “dirt cheap”. If you were hoping for that, you will be sorely disappointed. Now, if you are looking to buy, there is 0.9% financing available on select 09 models so it may be worth considering a purchase.

hey G: thanks for posting the November lease rates. I have a question, as I mentioned in your October section, I went to BMW last week and they gave me a money factor of 0.00215 for the 2009 328xi coupe. Your page says 0.00175 base rate. Is this a normal mark-up? Is this negotiable? How would I go about advertising that I know the base rate is 0.00175? Once again, appreciate all the help. -K
K: Yes, it is very normal for BMW to mark up the mf. I pretty much expect them to do so every month. In my experience, BMW will only offer the base rate if you put down a security deposit (or multiple) and have excellent credit. If you are a returning customer, you can try to get them to waive it. It is well within their rights to markup their base rate so don’t be too surprised if they are unwilling to go lower. Just let them know that other dealers have indicated that the base rate is .00175 and thats what you want. Maybe they’ll try to accommodate you to gain your business. Try to negotiate it, but I suspect you will need a security deposit (one or more) to secure that rate.
Great site. I’m considering leasing low mileage 2008 BMWs (loaners are being traded up). I was under the impression that you could take advantage of residual rates being that the vehicle has already depreciated a fair amount. Any thoughts/recommendations on a used lease as well as negotiable items. Thanks for the help

Thanks A! Usually I don’t recommend leasing used vehicles. But lightly used 08/09 test rides are ok in most cases. They should pretty much have the same rates with some minor mileage adjustments depending on what you want your terms to be. You will save some cash, but not as much as you would expect.
