Exciting news for all of you shopping for a BMW this month!! I will break away from tradition and allow REQUESTS for THIS MONTH ONLY! The reason I am allowing it is because I can actually answer your questions this time. Typically, I don’t have a very complete list of numbers. But this month is one of those few exceptions. So if you don’t see a particular term you are looking for (24 or 48 months), a model you want to lease, or a model year (2012 or 2013), drop me a line. I will try to get that info to you within 24 hours.

3-series coupes are getting about $1500 in lease cash (M3 included). 6-series get about $3500. There is also option credits up to $4500 for diesel/hybrid models.

Pull ahead program is available for leases expiring by August 31st. Check with your dealer for details.

Hi all! Thank you very much for your patience last month. As you know, we had a major crisis out east, so I couldn’t get my hands on November numbers for many brands. Things should be getting back to normal now. Please note, this is the end of the year so most brands will be aggressive with their sales in order to close out the year strong. There is at least $1000 in rebates on all BMWs, that includes the Ms, so do your research well in advance because it could save you thousands!

Bank Acquisition Fees. What to Expect.

Here is a partial list of bank acquisition fees. If you have leased with a brand or bank that’s not listed here, please share with the rest of us. Fees marked with a (*) are unconfirmed.

UPDATE (12/10/2012) – Had a very interesting conversation with the Honda finance guy the other day regarding bank acquisition fees. My original understanding of bank fees was that they served as two things: 1) loan processing 2) GAP coverage (for most banks). However, there is another little known reason why the amount is so high…apparently, the bank (which is a separate entity from the manufacturer) uses portions of that fee to pay for an multi-million dollar umbrella policy for their leased vehicles in case the lessee damages property or kills someone. As you know, we live in a very “sue-friend” country and when the plaintiff can’t get money from the defendant, we all know who they sue next.

September numbers are the same as August. It is somewhat unusual for numbers to remain the same three consecutive months, so I wouldn’t be surprised if BMWFS changed them mid-month. For the 3-series, I typically recommend targeting $500 over invoice since that’s normally what dealer are willing to work with. However, since the 2013 model is relatively new, you may get some resistance. The upside is that there is also $750 in lease cash, so in my “best case scenario” calculation below, you’d be looking at a 86.6 RWG rating. Your results may vary.

Numbers remain the same. My projection of the 328i selling for about $500 remains the same as well. In other words, whatever you were getting in July should remain the same in August. I looked at TrueCar data for NY area and it looks like the 328i is coming in at a bout $400 less, so those of you in the NE, try going for invoice. Truth be told, I’d recommend going for invoice no matter where you live.
