2011 BMW Lease Rates – February 2011

For the most part, BMW’s February lease rates remain unchanged. The biggest change only applies to lease terms longer than 48-months. Those terms get a healthy .00030 money factor reduction, but I still don’t recommend leasing a BMW longer than 3 years. Other than, lease rates are the same. I’ve been noticing a slight up-tick on the sale prices recently, but the month is still young, so I would recommend holding out until month-end to see if discounts become more aggressive. Expect lease rates to change next month.

2011 BMW Lease Rates – January 2011

UPDATE: 1-series and 3-series lease rates have been added! Enjoy!

LeaseCompare didn’t post any info on the 1-series and 3-series on their Facebook page, so that’s what’s missing here. Nevertheless, there have been major changes to BMW lease rates (residuals AND money factors), so you should reconfirm these numbers with your dealer. The M3 convertible’s MF is so low (0.0009), it almost looks like a typo. While the M3 sedan’s 36-month residual jumped like 6% (but it’s MF went out as well). This is a bit unusual to see, but definitely not uncommon. BMWFS has been known to adjust residuals from time to time. Anyway, the M3 convertible looks like the winner in my eyes this month, so if you have been waiting for one, this seems like your lucky month.

MY TAKE: Looks like November lease rates have carried over to December. This falls in line with BMW Financial’s Holiday Cash promotion, which lasts until January 3rd, 2011. Expect these lease rates to last through then as well. The “deals” of the month remain the same as last, which include the 1-series and 3-series. The Z4 isn’t half bad either in case you are shopping for a roadster.

2011 BMW Lease Rates – November 2010

UPDATE: The first set of lease rates to kick-off the Holiday Season and BMWFS lays a REAL stinker. Residuals drop. Money Factors either drop slightly, stay the same or go up a little. Sure, there is “holiday cash” available now, but “fixed dollar” rebates rarely offset hefty drops in residual value. This means that the higher the price tag, the more insignificant that lease rebate becomes. If you don’t believe me, feel free to crunch the numbers yourself and compare it to last month’s lease rates. One has to wonder if last month’s “higher-than-usual” sales volume had anything to do with this. Anyway, it’s incredible how much residuals dropped this month. We’re talking 3-5% of many of the popular models! Crazy! Lets hope that at least sale prices drop a bit more this month compared to last.

2011 BMW Lease Rates – October 2010

UPDATE: Looks like there are some changes to October numbers after all. There have been some drops (and one increase) on the 1-series. The 3-series and M3s get a nice drop in money factor on select models. The X5 gets a 0.00010 bump in money factor and most other models remain the same. Things just got sweeter in BMW land!

My Take: As expected, BMW numbers remained the same as last month. If you were looking for a BMW and couldn’t pull the trigger last month, you get another month to make it happen. This is an excellent month for the 3-series, so if you like the numbers, I would recommend getting some quotes sooner than later because I expect numbers to change come November.

My Take: Looks like some of the lease rates have improved this month. Residual values look like they have remained steady, while money factors have dropped on select models. There are some models that got a bump on the money factor, but for the most part, they improved. I guess low sales in August really prompted the banks to do something to move cars. Looks like September will remain a good month to lease a BMW.

Update: I just came across a news paper advertisement stating that “no security deposit” is needed to lease a 3-series. That is great news because more often than not, you need a security deposit to secure the base rate. This is a good month for a 3-series! the offer expires August 31st! So don’t sleep on this if you are in the market for a 3-series.

My Take: Some of the 3-series money factors droppped this month, making the lease significantly cheaper. Not too much of a surprise there since the 3-series is their top selling model, so discounts usually happen on that lineup. The rest of the BMW line up’s lease rates have remained the same. If you need help with payment estimates, be sure to provide the necessary information in your comments (i.e. MSRP, Sale price, sales tax and any fees your dealer is charging). This information is crucial in order to get an accurate estimate so be sure to get that from your dealer.

My Take: The July BMW numbers are out and it looks better than June. There’s been drops in money factor for most models and trims while the residual numbers have carried over from last month. Not a bad time to get into a BMW right now. Just make sure you find the right balance between the sale price, residual and money factor in order to net the monthly payment you can afford. Here’s a sample number crunch for a 2011 BMW 128i with the value package on a 36mo/12k mile lease term. The MSRP is $32850 and the assumed sale price is $31000. Before taxes, you would be looking at approximately $379 per month, with the usual inception fees due at singing (around $1500 bucks). This is about the same amount of money I pay for my 2008 G37.
