09 Volkswagen CC Lease Rates – June 2009

logo_vwMy Take: Looks like the VW CCs are falling under the “lease-to-buy” category now. I would skip the Sport model since the residual and money factor are still a bit too weak for my taste. Instead, opt for the Luxury, VR6 or VR6 4motion models if you don’t mind buying them at lease end. If you plan to lease and return, I recommend skipping the CCs altogether and going with something like an Accord.

09 VW CC Lease Rates – April 2009

logo_vwMy Take: There is $1000 customer cash on the VW CCs this month if you finance through their financing arm, so be sure to factor that into your calculations. The lease rates look pretty decent to me, so I would definitely recommend taking this ride for a spin and see what kind of deal you can pull off. Now, regarding the “special financing”, there really isn’t anything special about it. The shorter terms have a lower APR while the higher terms pretty much screw you over at a 6.4% APR for 66 months. Couple of things to keep in mind, the CC leases best at 36-months, so be sure not to go under or beyond that. The 24-month lease is a bit low on residual, with only a 4% increase. You can increase your 36-month residual by 3% by opting for the 10k mile lease, so it is pretty clear VW is trying to discourage you from going with the 24-month lease. Another thing to watch out is that not all CCs are created equal. The sport trim has the highest residual value, which will yield the lowest monthly payment. Now the 48-month lease is the cheapest, but I would stay away from it unless you don’t mind the extra costs that come with being out of warranty and replacing tires. In most cases, stock tires should last until the 36th month of your lease if you do regular rotations and don’t drive aggressively. With 48-month terms, you are pretty much guaranteed to replace them by the time your lease matures, so don’t let the “lower” payment fool you!

UPDATE: the $1000 has been pulled. Bummer. I know.

09 VW Passat CC Lease Rates for February 2009

My Take: There is $1000 cash back on the CC unitl March 2nd, 2009 so be sure to take advantage of that. The money factor is fairly low , just shy of 3%. The residual is pretty good as well, so be sure to consider the VW Passat CC Sport. The only downside I see here is that the Sport model doesn’t have a lot of options.

October 2008 Lease Rate for 08 VW Jetta & Passat

My Take: Of the remaining 09 Jetta and Passats, the Wolfsburg edition seems to stand out. The residual value is still pretty high and the money factor is lower than most. This makes for a nice combination for leasing. If you are in the market for a Jetta and don’t mind driving a manual transmission, the Wolfsburg may be for you. There is also special financing available in the form of 0% for up to 36 months, 1.9% for 48 and 2.9% for 60. I would go with the lease in this particular case since the money factor breaks down to about 2.568% APR.

0% Financing on All 08 VW models

VW is introducing 0% financing on all 08 VW models until Halloween. As for 09 models, you can get 3.9% financing on those. Pre-owned vehicles also have fairly low interest rates if you plan to purchange one. As always, when there are low-interest financing loans to be had, I will always recommend those over leases because nothing beats free money.
