2011-12 Volkswagen Lease Rates – September 2011

Of all 2012 VW lease rates this month. Only the Passat shows a lot of promise ($1000 lease cash available and a good MF/RV). The CC isn’t half bad either because of the $1250 lease cash that’s available, but it’s RV and MF aren’t as good. Some good deals to be head, however, I should warn you…More and more people are reporting that VW will charge “market value” on payoffs if you try to trade-in the car before lease end. With that in mind, you better be willing to keep the car for the entire term of your lease or you will end up paying a pretty penny trying to get off your lease.

2011-12 Volkswagen Lease Rates – August 2011

2011 lease rates seem to be have stayed the same as last month (You can look at last month’s post for those numbers). No surprise there. There is a chance that rates could change mid-month, so I will keep you posted if anything changes. The CC still have the $1250 lease cash, but I don’t see the $750 cash anymore. It may still be available in some areas, so be sure to inquire about it.

For those open to buying, VW Credit is offering 0% financing for up to 60 month on the CC Sport DSG. In my opinion, that is a far better deal than leasing, since there is no interest on that loan. As a matter of fact, many VW models have the special 0% financing for up to 60 months, so you may want to have your dealer crunch out some numbers to see if buying works out better for you.

2010 Volkswagen Lease Rates – December 2010

logo_vwMy Take: Some minor changes in the VW line up. The Jetta S residual drops 1%, but the MF has been lower to compensate. Also I think there was a typo on last month’s Golf lease rates. It was listed as 61%, but it’s 52% this month.  Not sure what happened there, sorry about that. The CC remains a strong lease with the uber-low money factor. The GTI is unchanged, while the Tiguan has a lower money factor and same residual as last month. VW is doing their infamous Sign-then-Drive which means nothing out of pocket for you, all fees rolled into the lease and VW picks up the 1st month payment. That is technically how it’s supposed to work, so be sure to look for that in your paperwork.

2011 Volkswagen Lease Rates – November 2010

logo_vwMy Take: GTI rates actually look worse than last month. 1% drop in residual, a hike in money factor and no lease cash usually means slightly higher monthly payments. The CC on the other hand, looks promising. Too bad I’m not in the market for a 4-seater sedan, otherwise I would really consider getting one of those. The Golf numbers looks great and the Tiguan is not too bad either. I’m not sure I like the Jetta’s numbers though, but at the right sale price, it could work.

2010-11 Volkswagen Lease Rates – October 2010

logo_vwUpdate: Routan, CC added.

My Take: VW is trying to unloaded the Passat since a NMS (New Midsized Sedan) that is being assembled in the US is probably going to be released for the 2011 model year. Pretty exciting stuff. The residuals suck, but the MF is awesome and there’s lease cash to offset the bad residual. This is a good combination should you decide to keep the Passat at lease-end.

2010/11 Volkswagen Lease Rates – August 2010

logo_vwMy Take: As expect, 2010 residual are down right nasty at this point of the year. VW Credit has taken the step to drop the MF so low, it’s practically interest free. On top of that, they even give customers cash to move these “soon-to-be-used” cars. My guess is that there’s a lot of inventory right now and they really want to move it. I say, HECK YEAH! I haven’t crunched the numbers yet, but I get the feeling that some of these models might make this month’s Round-Up.

2010 VW Jetta, Tiguan, Passat, CC Lease Rates – February 2010

logo_vw

Update: Had a chance to visit the VW dealer today. Didn’t get much in terms of numbers since we were doing test drives. But I did manage some numbers on the CC Luxury, which was the only thing they had for CCs. I also dropped in the Tiguan Wolfsburg for those who need it. Jetta TDIs are not going to be in production this year, instead, only the Cup Edition will be available. Wife really liked the Jetta Wolfsburg and I can’t really disagree. 2.0T engine, media center, leather interior, moon roof, allow wheels, all under a MSRP of 25,000. Can’t complain there. One issue I have right now is that I am noticing dealer trying to force “dealer addons” onto the cars to make extra profit. The local Subby and VW dealer was adding security window etching for an extra $995, which provides you with “coverage” should your car is stolen. I got one word for that, “LAME”. There is no way in hell I’d spend nearly $1k for that.

My Take: I spent a lot of time today hitting the phones in order to get some numbers and I managed a few. The Tiguan is a very strong lease right now, with a $308 plus tax per month payment with inception due at signing. The assumption is that the MSRP is $26k and the sale price is invoice or around $24.6k. Sure, its not fully loaded, but it’s a cheap lease if you don’t mind me saying. There’s a possibility that the lease rates are going to change March, so keep that in mind. Now there’s a issue with availability around these parts, specially regarding the Jetta TDI and the CC Sport. I will call around other deals and provide you with an update at a later date.

09 Volkswagen CC Lease Rates – August 2009

logo_vwMy Take: I am very surprised to see how crummy the residual values are for the VW CC. I know production has probably ended on the 2009 models, but still, we’re talking 40s on a 36-month lease! Sure, the money factor does help, but I’m not sure if it really helps much. A quick crunching of numbers gives the CC Luxury (using TMV price as the sale price) a 1.34 rating on my lease calculator. That puts it in the “AVERAGE” range. Basically, you gotta knock off about $5000 of the MSRP this month in order to get this into the GOOD DEAL range. I don’t think that’s likely to happen. The Sport is even worse, getting a 1.41 using TMV as sale price (TMV is actually lower than invoice). Anyway, I’m not going to recommend the CC this month as a lease. Way too much for way too little.
